via jwhittemore / 1 month ago / 785 notes / this is why i gave up on acting when i was younger, it wasn't that i didn't love it anymore, it was that i knew i couldn't get any roles aside from race-specific roles, so when we did high school musical I got Gabriella because I fit the racial profile, let's look over the fact that I did that, When we did Alice in Wonderland there was no way I was getting Alice because I was neither blonde nor white, And I wasn't going to get cast in Damn Yankees for racial and directorial reasons either, so now I write and read because no one can discriminate me for that,
